AI: Bespoke vs Mass — The Question of Loyalty

Every AI has someone it is built for.
The mass AI tools most of us use every day are built for everyone, which is to say they are built by companies, for users at scale, within the constraints of business models and policies that apply to millions of people simultaneously. The AI is loyal to the entity that built it, and to the user insofar as that loyalty does not conflict with the first. This is not hidden. It is simply how the technology works at scale.
A Bespoke AI Confidante has a different structure. It is built for one person. Its training, its memory, its way of holding a conversation are oriented around that person — their questions, their context, their concerns. There is no second loyalty to balance. There is no policy designed for millions that happens to apply to them. The AI serves the person it was built for, and only that person.
For most uses, the first kind is exactly what is needed. For the questions that genuinely matter — the ones a person would not ask a tool that is also serving someone else's interests — the second kind is the only honest answer.
